Eligibility to Play: Your athlete must be at least 6 years old to play.  The cut-off is August 1st of each season.  If they are 6 by August 1st, then your athlete can play.

Age Cut-off: The cut-off of August 1st also decides what team your athlete will play on.  For example, if they turn 11 before August 1st of the current season, they will be on the 12U team and will not be eligible for the 10U team.

Weight Requirements: We do not have weight requirements to play but if your athlete is above a certain weight depending on age, they will be marked as an X player and will only be allowed play as a Lineman.  This is an SYF League Rule.

8th Grade Exception: If your athlete will be an 8th grader for the upcoming season, they are required to play on 14U in order to prepare them for High School Football.
We will send out updates via email and Facebook before and throughout the season but we prefer to use Remind Messaging during the season.

Practices

Your athlete should bring plenty of water to practice.  A small 16oz water bottle is not enough, please send your athlete with a minimum of a 64oz water bottle, preferably larger, many bring a gallon size.  With all the gear they have on, they will sweat a lot and will need plenty of water to stay hydrated.

They will need to be ready to begin practice by 6pm so please have your athlete ready to go in cleats, practice pants or shorts with girdle, shoulder pads with practice jersey, and their helmet and mouth guard attached.

When is Practice?

Practices will normally be 3 days a week, held Mon, Tues, Wed or Tues, Wed, Thurs from 6pm to 8pm.  Some of the head coaches may decide they want to practice up to 4 or 5 days a week in the first 3-4 weeks of practice.  You will be told in an email/text and/or in person, if available, if that turns out to be the case.

Where is Practice?

Practices are held at Colfax Ball Park.

Parent Participation & Equipment

Colfax Jr. Falcons operates entirely through the cooperation and dedication of our parents. Parent participation is essential to maintaining the quality of our program and ensuring a positive, memorable experience for all athletes.

Our board members and coaching staff are volunteers who devote their time and effort without compensation. Your participation helps us minimize program expenses, allowing us to keep registration fees affordable for all families.

Parent Participation & Equipment Deposit Policy
To ensure adequate support and equipment recovery, we require each family to submit two deposit checks of $300.00 each at the beginning of the season.

These checks will not be cashed unless: Your required participation hours are not completed as scheduled. Your athlete's equipment is not returned within one month of the season ending. If both requirements are met, your checks will be destroyed and disposed of after the season.

Parent(s)/Guardian(s) are required to work for a total of 10 hours throughout the season. We have about 40 two hour shifts each home game. You can choose to work all 10 hours in one day or spread them throughout different game days, the choice is up to you.

You will work with our Parent Participation Coordinator to complete your required hours.

The following options are available for completing your Parent Participation Hours:
  • Front Gate: Help put on wristbands and check patron wristbands.
  • Security: Ensure only authorized vehicles/personnel enter rear parking lot, ensure all patrons enter through main entry gate.
  • Snack Bar: Help with sales and distribution of CJF Snack Bar Items.
  • BBQ: Prepare and grill Snack Bar Items such as burgers, hotdogs, and grilled onions.
  • Team Mom: Facilitate communication between coaches and parents. Help with end of season party planning and/or coaches gifts.
  • Spotter: Be the “eyes” for our home game announcer (i.e. who made the tackle, touchdown, etc).
  • Chain Crew: Work chains and down indicator on sideline. (Away games only)

The Home Game shifts run in 2 hour increments as outlined below:
8am to 10am    ->    10am to 12pm    ->    12pm to 2pm    ->    2pm to 4pm    ->    4pm to 6pm

An Online sign up sheet will be sent out during the week after Jamboree.  You will be able to sign up for 5 shifts on this sheet to allow everyone to fill their hours.  We will gladly take more help if you wish to help more than your 10 hours, just let our Parent Participation Coordinator know on Game Day and we will almost always need more help than we have.

Thank you in advance for your support!!!
